16th Children's University "All about books" starts in March

It will take place again in 2021: the annual Children's University "All about books". This time, however, the event, which is organised by staff from the Department of German Studies at the University of Erfurt, will be held in a different format due to Corona: The children are not visiting the university, but the university is coming to the schools digitally. A "Digital Children's University on the Road" - in March 2021.

Under the motto "Fantasy and Reality", students have developed literary projects for this as PowerPoint presentations that can be used directly in the classroom through audio and video recordings. In addition, teachers receive all materials (pictures, worksheets, etc.) as pdf files as well as a guide through the lesson. This is to enable the children to open up diverse literary worlds through action-oriented methods.

The Children's University was founded 15 years ago by Prof. Dr. Karin Richter. In the past eleven years, Dr Monika Plath has led the Children's University with great passion. Now she has passed the baton to Leonore Jahn, who is very much looking forward to the task and wants to continue the goal of the Children's University "All about books": to inspire children and students with literature.

Registration for the Children's University "All about books" is open from 1 to 12 February 2021. All information can be found at: www.uni-erfurt.de/erziehungswissenschaftliche-fakultaet/fakultaet/profil/fachgebiete-und-professuren/grundschulpaedagogik-und-kindheitsforschung/grundlegung-deutsch.
