Karst landscapes offer picturesque hideaways and at the same time provide deep insights into the history of the earth. The latest volume "Karstwärts" by author Jan Röhnert takes readers on a journey through these fascinating landscapes and makes the space accessible as a text. It provides inspiring suggestions for exploring the surrounding landscapes such as the Thuringian sandstone, the shell limestone of the Saale or the gypsum and dolomite of the southern Harz.
In conversation with Erfurt-based editor Stephan Herbst from kul-ja! Publishing, Jan Röhnert will present his book. The stories, which are in the tradition of nature writing, not only depict setting off and walking in the karst, but also enable a variety of connections to the natural history holdings of the Gotha Research Library.
Jan Röhnert is Professor of Modern and Contemporary Literature at the Technical University of Braunschweig. In addition to Literary Studies, he writes poetry, travel prose and literary criticism.
Following the talk, the Friends of the Gotha Research Library e.V. invite you to a small reception.
Due to limited capacity, please register by 15 July at veranstaltungen.fb@uni-erfurt.de or call 0361/737-5530.
