Information from the organiser

An extract from Ingeborg Arlt's novel "Das kleine Leben" (1987) takes centre stage. It tells the story of the protagonist Barbara, who is reminded of shared experiences by the sudden death of her friend Hannelore. Hannelore's coming out as a lesbian is particularly impressive – a topic that is particularly relevant in the social and political context of the GDR.

Sina Meißgeier, author of the book "Lesbische Identitäten und Sexualität in der DDR-Literatur" (Lesbian Identities and Sexuality in GDR Literature), will provide further insights into this topic with her specialised lecture. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity for an open discussion and an exchange of questions.

We look forward to your participation and an exciting discussion!
