Political judgement is currently being challenged by political polarisation, social singularisation and dwindling trust in media information systems. In view of this situation, many see the power of judgement as a resource of democracy being called into question. What role do the media play in the formation of political judgement? Can political judgement be promoted through political education? What criteria actually characterise political judgement?
The conference, which is sponsored by the Fritz Thyssen Foundation, aims to discuss this question from the perspectives of social science, philosophy, law and media studies and to bring the various positions into dialogue with one another.
The detailed programme can be found in our calendar of events. Registration for the event is possible until 15 March via e-mail: politische.bildung@uni-erfurt.de. Participation is free of charge.
