"Annelies" performance in the Reglerkirche Erfurt

The Department of Music invites all interested parties to a concert by the University of Erfurt Chamber Choir together with an instrumental ensemble of students and university lecturers at the Reglerkirche Erfurt on Saturday, 22 June. A special guest that evening will be the youth chamber choir of the Dresden Singakademie. Together they will perform the piece "Annelies" by the recently deceased British composer James Whitbourn, a setting of excerpts from the diary of Anne Frank. The performance will begin at 7.30 pm.

"With our performance, which will also be conducted in part by female students, we hope to make a contribution to keeping the memory of the life and death of Anne Frank alive at a time when historical misrepresentation is once again booming," explains Michael Käppler, artistic employee for choral conducting at the Faculty of Education at the University of Erfurt in the run-up to the event.

Admission is free, but a donation is requested at the exit of the church.
