New research group for geoeconomics at the University of Erfurt

The Thuringian Ministry for Economis Affairs, Science and Digital Society is supporting a new research group for geoeconomics (EFGEo) at the University of Erfurt with almost 400,000 euros over the next three years as part of the Thuringian research, technology and innovation funding programme.

It is based on the "Security Capitalism Research Group" and is intended to conduct interdisciplinary basic research at the interface of international political economy, law, international relations and conflict research as well as public policy and to tie this back to the special situation of the European, German and Thuringian economies. The involved researchers – Professor Oliver Kessler, Professor Sophia Hoffmann, Professor Michael Riegner and Professor Andreas Goldthau – will start their work in spring 2025.

In our blog "WortMelder" we present the new EFGeo research group in more detail.
