Short Biography
Aye Aye Htun is a PhD Candidate at the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt under the supervision of Professor Dr. Achim Kemmerling. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Development studies, with specialisation in Economics from Yangon Economics University, Yangon, Myanmar (Burma). She holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Ramkhamhaeng University, Bangkok, Thailand. After having worked for several years in business, she is now a fellow of the Katholischer Akademischer Ausländer-Dienst (KAAD).
Aye Aye Htun's PhD research focuses on Fiscal Federalism in Myanmar as a theory-guided single case study, her research intends to explore how transition/ conflict or regime dynamics affect the political economy of fiscal federalism in developing countries, how Fiscal federalism is related to State/Regional equalization, Political Decentralization, Distribution of Responsibilities and local development in Myanmar. As well as how far Fiscal federalism can achieve State/Regional equalization, Distribution of Responsibilities and development in Myanmar.
