As part of the degree programme, students should complete an internship of at least 270 hours for career orientation. During the internship, students should actively work in an institution whose activities are related to applied linguistics. Before starting the internship, the approval of the internship supervisor, Professor Dr Frank Domahs, should be obtained. Please use the internship agreement and confirmation form. This form must also confirm that the internship has been completed by the internship centre. The form is then submitted together with an internship report to the internship coordinator Professor Dr Frank Domahs.
If students already have professional experience relevant to the degree programme or can provide evidence of relevant internships, these can be recognised.
Internship Abroad
It is also possible to complete the internship abroad. Internships within Europe can be funded as part of the Erasmus+ programme. For internships outside Europe, it is possible to receive scholarships for travel expenses via the DAAD's PROMOS programme. Further information can be found on the pages of the International Office, which will advise you on questions of organisation and funding.
