Creativity and practice are very important in the Master's program Health Communication: As part of seminars and assignments, the Master's students have dealt with a wide variety of health topics and prepared them as evidence-based podcast episodes. The first episode of “GeKonnt Gesund” entitled “What does climate change do to our psyche” has now been released.
Leonie Otten, doctoral student and research assistant at the Chair of Health Communication, came up with the idea. She offered students the opportunity to work on a podcast episode as an examination assignment.
Alone or in teams of two, the students practice how science communication works. They can be creative when researching, editing and recording. Beforehand, I will give them a brief introduction to the basics of podcasting with lots of tips on production & post-production and recording techniques.
The next episodes will cover topics such as conspiracy theories in the climate context, women's health, organ donation and much more.
Have fun listening!
