Tackling Social Challenges Interdisciplinarily
Economics, Law and Social Sciences at the University of Erfurt consists of the disciplines of economics, law, international relations and social science. The different theoretical and methodological approaches enable a comprehensive understanding of governmental and non-governmental systems and processes. Since in many areas - whether in economics, politics or science - tasks must increasingly be solved in an interdisciplinary manner, this represents a forward-looking academic concept. This development is reflected in the degree programmes in Economics, Law, and Social Sciences, which were introduced in 2000.
A special network
From the very beginning, Economics, Law and Social Sciences has attracted capable, committed and socially engaged students from across Germany. The personal support and the small campus foster a strong sense of belonging to both the programme and the university - creating a vibrant and multifaceted alumni network.
Alumni today
Today, many alumni work successfully in ministries, in parliaments, in think tanks, at universities, in banks and management consulting, business administration, international organisations, or in the public sector. The strength of the programme is clearly demonstrated by the professional success of its graduates.
The future of Economics, Law and Social Sciences
The Alumni Association actively supports the expansion, further development and independence of political science in research, teaching and practice - especially in times of financially constrained higher education systems.
The Alumni Association maintains close ties with current students and the Faculty of Economics, Law and Social Sciences at the University of Erfurt.
We aim to support alumni from different graduating years, current students, and anyone interested in political science to engage in a lively exchange, establish new connections, and discover shared interests. At the same time, the Association seeks to promote political science as an interdisciplinary discipline and strengthen dialogue between academia and practice.
We organise alumni meetings as well as public events on topics related to Economics, Law and Social Sciences.
