A warm welcome

at the professorship for Structural Analysis of Modern Societies

Structural analysis is a central field of sociology and examines sub-areas of society and their interactions. In addition to the basic demographic division of the population and the distribution of central resources such as education, occupation and income, as well as the grouping of these divisions into social classes, strata and milieus, the focus is primarily on the system of social orders or the basic institutions. Teaching covers the various approaches to researching social structure, including their theoretical and conceptual foundations as well as empirical analyses.
