Career paths after studying Economics, Law and Social Sciences

Five years after graduating in Economics, Law and Social Sciences, I am now working in the Marketing & Business Development department of a large German commercial law firm in Frankfurt. I started my career specialising in politics and economics, initially at a small communications agency, through which I met my current employer.

After completing my master's thesis in Economics, Law and Social Sciences, I first worked as a research employee at the professorship for Public Law and Modern Legal History at the University of Erfurt. I am currently a speaker for the Rectorate and for quality management at the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Art and Design. I also manage the senate, university council, study commission and board of trustees there. In addition to managing the committees, I am also responsible for the evaluation of teaching and other university activities as well as issues relating to university law.

I completed my doctorate in economic policy at the University of Erfurt and worked as a post-doc in the same field. Nine years after completing my master's thesis, I work in Quality Management in Studies and Teaching at the University of Erfurt. I also run a sports and integration project in a non-profit organisation in Erfurt.

After completing my degree in Economics, Law and Social Sciences, I worked in various areas at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) . Among other things, I was a research employee in the European Office in Brussels and coordinator of the 'Europanarrative' project in the Foreign, Security and European Policy Department as well as a speaker for European competitiveness at the head office in Berlin. Now, seven years after graduating, I am head of the KAS Baltic States Office based in Riga.

I was a research employee at the professorship for International Economics and Econometrics at the University of Erfurt and received my doctorate there. I currently have a post-doctoral position at this professorship.

Six years after graduating, I am now a member of the state executive of the Left Party in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and, as a constituency assistant to a member of the Bundestag, I am responsible for agriculture, food, rural areas and trade unions.
