You are cordially invited to the event "Digitalisation, disinformation and data protection as new challenges for intelligence services", which Professor Sophia Hoffmann is hosting together with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Erfurt on 31 January 2020.

The battle for information sovereignty on the Internet is in full swing: where it used to be about dead letter boxes, secret codes and cloaked agents, today it's about memes, bug-proof servers and computer worms. It seems like a war of all against all: secret services of hostile states spread disinformation and propaganda, extremist groups use secret chats and plan coups - and everyone wants to hide from each other or eavesdrop on each other using the latest technologies. Is all of this relevant or even threatening to the public? We talk to representatives from the intelligence services, academia and civil society to gain a better understanding.

Guests:

  • Dr Maik Pawlowsky, Second Head of the Cyber and Counterintelligence Department, Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution.

  • Tobias Madl, IT specialist, founder of NeoDym AG, 2018 European Champion European Cyber Security Challenge.

  • Representatives from the media (requested)

Moderation:

  • Tim Segler, Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

You are in the news section of the Professorship of International Politics and Conflict Research.
