This year we want to set out together as universities in Thuringia, which is why the focus of the symposium is: Sustainability at universities in Thuringia - On the way to a strong university network

In general, the desire for sustainability is increasingly growing across all sectors. Universities in particular, which should analyse, publish and promote the latest scientific findings on these socially relevant topics, are for the most part still in the early stages of development.
In addition, on closer inspection, the broad field of sustainability requires expert knowledge from a wide range of subject areas, as it usually involves complex, difficult-to-solve problems (wicked problems & wicked science). Sustainability solutions therefore require in-depth approaches, scientific foundations and detailed considerations in order to develop truly holistic solution strategies.

For this reason, it is important to work together in the Thuringian University Network and lay the foundations for a sustainable future.
