In view of the increasing penetration of data-based intelligent technologies, so-called artificial intelligence (AI), into everyday actions, the development of digital skills is a central social task, because the lives of young people and young adults in particular are increasingly shaped by these technologies. The ability to move confidently and independently in digital worlds is thus becoming an important basis for active participation in society. In the core of his lecture, Professor Sven Jöckel from the University of Erfurt shows which aspects play a role in mastering AI and algorithms. He questions how such skills can be fostered in different educational settings. The lecture is based on initial perspectives from the research project "Algorithm Literacy and Sourcing Competence in Non-Formal Education Settings", which was launched in 2025 and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
The other dates of the AI lecture series in the summer semester can be found on our event poster (in German only).
