Description of courses

This course is intended for participants who have no or very little previous knowledge of French and prepares students of the University of Erfurt for level A1.

Cours de français pour débutants (2)

Both parts together form the 2nd part of a two-semester course, started in the winter semester and prepare for the certificate level (A2) by the end of the summer semester.

Politique, culture et société B1

The aim of the course is to discover and discuss "the values, ways of life and symbolic representations" (Council of Europe, 1986) of the French: How do they explain themselves? Comment ont-ils évolué dans le temps ? Are they comparable to those of our European neighbours? Given the selected work documents, B1 level language skills are required to follow this course.

Courses de langue B1.1 Intermédiaire

These courses are aimed at students who have passed the assessment test at the beginning of the semester (41 - 45 points) or who have passed the A2 exams.

They will prepare for 2 semesters for the different exams of the B1 exam, which will take place at the end of the winter semester 2021.

Courses de langue B1 2e partie

This is the second part of the B1 + language courses. They prepare you for the various exams of the B1 exam which will take place at the end of the end of the semester.

B1.2 Intermediate language courses

We work on two types of discourse: informative and narrative. For each type of text proposed, we adapt a three-step process:

- observation of the way in which language puts into text the facts and stories of our everyday environment

- learning activities (grammar and vocabulary)

- production, essentiellement écrite.

This work will be complemented by oral expression activities based on BD, caricatures, sondages, témoignages ...

Compréhension écrite et discussion B2

This course pursues a double objective by addressing the themes of French-speaking civilisation (the judicial system, high schools, laïcité, etc.):

- training in the comprehension of written texts (developing reading strategies, moving from global comprehension to detailed comprehension)

- The practice of oral production.

During written production activities, students reinvest in written comprehension tools and improve their expressive skills during discussions. This course also allows students to improve their exposé techniques.

Language and culture B2

These courses are aimed at Romance Studies students who need to pass the B2 exam at the end of the 2020 semester. This is the second part of the language courses.

Il s'agit là de la deuxième partie du cours de langue B2.

Cours de langue B2.2 1e partie / 2e partie

It prepares students for the various examinations of the B2 exam which will take place at the end of the end of the semester.

Politique, culture et société B2/C1

The aim of the course is to discover and discuss "the values, ways of life and symbolic representations" (Council of Europe, 1986) of the French: How do they explain themselves? Comment ont-ils évolué dans le temps ? Are they comparable to those of our European neighbours? Presentations prepared by the students will allow us to explore certain aspects developed during the course.

Having received the selected work documents, B2 level language skills are required to follow this course.

Translation B2/ C1

This course is aimed at BA Romance Studies students in their 4th semester, but also at students who have already passed the exam certifying French language skills at level B2. The translation exercises are essentially based on texts extracted from Germanophone literature of the XXth century.

Langue et culture C1

This course began in the winter semester and prepares students for the various C1 level examinations at the end of the autumn semester.

Language course C1.2

This course began in the winter semester and prepares students for the various C1 level examinations at the end of the summer semester.

Grammar and written expression C1

The aim of the course is to improve the students' performance in written expression by enabling them to analyse and then produce complex texts, both at a semantic and syntactic level. Vocabulary and grammar exercises serve as a linguistic aid to expression.
