The IPB is currently funded exclusively by the University of Erfurt.
Individual research projects are funded through third-party grants. These include the German Research Foundation (DFG), the European Union, the Free State of Thuringia, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Federal Ministry of Health, and organizations such as the Robert Koch Institute or the Federal Centre for Health Education.
The research is scientifically independent.
