New research unit for geoeconomics at the University of Erfurt

The Thuringian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Science and Digital Society is funding a new research unit for geoeconomics (EFGEo) at the University of Erfurt with almost 400,000 euros. The research unit emerged from the "Security Capitalism Research Group" and is dedicated to interdisciplinary basic research at the interface of international political economy, law, international relations, conflict research and public policy. Particular attention is paid to relating the research findings to the specific circumstances of the European, German and Thuringian economies.

The researchers involved - Prof Dr Oliver Kessler, Prof Dr Sophia Hoffmann, Prof Dr Michael Riegner and Prof Dr Andreas Goldthau - will begin their work in spring 2025.
