Is climate protection a human right?

This question was the topic of a guest lecture given by Prof. Michael Riegner at the Federal University of Pará in Brazil on August 21, 2024. Based on current case law of the European Court of Human Rights on the so-called “human right to climate protection”, he discussed comparative perspectives, including on the inter-American human rights system.
