Apply Now! For the Jessup Moot Court of the University Jena

Applications open until 31.08.2023!
We are thrilled to announce that the University of Jena will once again be sending a team to the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition which will take place over the course of the winter semester 2023/24.

This time, students also from the University of Erfurt can apply to become a part of the team!

The Jessup Competition is the most prestigious and well-known Public International Law Moot Court Competition worldwide. Jessup challenges participants to assume the role of legal counsel for two fictitious states involved in a dispute in front of the International Court of Justice (ICJ). This year’s case will concern traitors and crooks. It will raise issues related to the right to political expression, statelessness, the right to nationality, and the scope of the United Nations Security Council's authority in the pacific settlement of disputes. The competition is held entirely in English and is a priceless opportunity to develop your research, legal writing, and public speaking skills and to connect with many people who share a passion for international law.
