"This is an excellent choice because it creates synergies between the Max-Weber-Kolleg, which, along with other research groups, will also move into the new building, and the Brandt School - both highly international institutions," explains Professor Walter Bauer-Wabnegg, President of the University. The spatial proximity opened up new opportunities for cooperation between students, researchers and teachers at both institutions. The President also welcomes the fact that initial discussions have already taken place between the Max-Weber-Kolleg and the Brandt School on how the School, with its programme and its international players, can optimally and profitably accommodate itself in the new research building in the future.
"The future location in the new building illustrates the important role the Brandt School plays at the University of Erfurt and in Erfurt," says Professor Andreas Goldthau, Director of the Brandt School. "It gives us new space for innovative teaching and offers opportunities for growth."
Until then, there will be an interim solution for the Brandt School, as the previous building on Nordhäuser Straße had to be abandoned earlier than expected. "We want to look forward together and look forward to the faculties and institutions being together again on the campus in the future," explains Walter Bauer-Wabnegg. Andreas Goldthau: "We know what we are working towards and are looking forward to the new location on Max Weber Allee. There can be no better address for a Public Policy School."
