The focus of the day is the important Gotha cartographer August Petermann (1822-1878), whose 200th birthday is being celebrated this year. In six special guided tours, Petermann's personality and work will be presented on the basis of outstanding original testimonies of his work.

The guided tours in the Perthes Forum, Justus-Perthes-Str. 5, will take place at 9 am, 10 am, 11 am, 1 pm, 2 pm and 3 pm. The number of participants is limited to twelve per tour. The tours are free of charge, but donations are requested for the preservation of the research library's holdings.

Registration for the tours is now only possible by telephone on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 0361/737-5581.
