International conference on Socinianism

The Gotha Research Campus of the University of Erfurt will host an international conference from 25 to 27 May entitled "A Philosophy of its own? Socinianism and Philosophy in the 17th and 18th Century".

Socinianism can be described as theological enlightenment avant la lettre. But does this also apply to its Philosophy? The subject of the conference is the question in what way one can speak of a Socinian Philosophy and what reception and subterranean after-effects it found in the 17th and 18th centuries.

The conference, which will take place in the Pagenhaus of Friedenstein Castle, is being organised by Dr Sascha Salatowsky (Gotha Research Library) and Dr Falk Wunderlich (Halle/Saale). Anyone wishing to attend is requested to register with Dr. Sascha Salatowsky.
