Historical manuscripts must be air-conditioned before being made available

As the autumn weather conditions in the stacks of the Gotha Research Library of the University of Erfurt are again leading to very low temperatures, it is necessary for conservation reasons to air-condition ordered titles before use. The research library would now like to point this out.

Against this background, from Monday, 11 November 2024, a provision period of several hours will apply until further notice for manuscripts and ordered titles published before 1850:

  • order by 9 a.m.: use possible from 3.30 p.m.
  • order after 9 a.m.: can be used the following day
