The exhibition traces the eventful history of the Gotha Research Library, the origin of the books and the writing and thought movements of its readers. It tells the story(s) of Gotha's book and library history from the library's foundation in 1647 to the 21st century. It shows treasures and curiosities, presents everyday library life and is dedicated to the upheavals in library history from the second half of the 20th century.
The public curator tours will take place on the following dates:

- Saturday, 7 May, 2 p.m.
- Saturday, 18 June, 2 p.m.
Further guided tours will take place on 13 April, 20 April, 27 April, 11 May, 18 May, 25 May - each at 1 pm.
The meeting point is always at the entrance to the Hall of Mirrors at Friedenstein Castle Gotha.
