"Bücher bewegen": Virtual Exhibition of the Gotha Research Library

The Gotha Research Library at the University of Erfurt celebrated its 375th anniversary in 2022 - with numerous events, activities and an exhibition under the anniversary motto "Bücher bewegen". Based on this physical exhibition, a virtual show is now also on view, offering insights into the history of the library at Friedenstein Castle.

The exhibition is divided into eleven chapters and presents significant library objects and events in library history in words and pictures. The content of the exhibition was developed by the curator of the physical exhibition, library director Dr Kathrin Paasch. Dr Hendrikje Carius, Head of the Department of Use and Digital Services, was responsible for the digital curation.

The virtual exhibition "Bücher bewegen" is now permanently on view in the library's digital exhibition portal at https://ausstellungen.thulb.uni-jena.de/die-ausstellungen/buecherbewegen (in German only).
