The tandem program is a perfect opportunity if you:
...want to keep up or improve your language skills from school,
...would like to speak more frequently in your target language,
...are open to new cultures and
...like helping others with learning a language.
Dear international students: Please provide us with information on all the languages you speak. This way, we can find you a partner more easily.
We are happy to announce that the Tandem Project will continue.
Registration is possible from now on. Feedback on your registration will be provided around the first weeks of May.
A tandem consists of two people who support each other in language learning:
It is an open form of learning in which two people with different first languages work together to teach each other their target language.
In a language tandem, both partners benefit - both languages are equally and regularly used.
Where and how often you meet with your partner is up to you. The tandem allows you to learn at your own pace.
By joining the programme, you get a chance to meet people from all over the world.
You are free to organize your learning as you wish. You can come up with precise goals or you can meet more casually for having ice cream.
Here are some suggestions:
Talk about your home country: What information can you share about leisure time, studies, food and drink, books and films or festivals?
Explore Erfurt together: Where are your favorite places in Erfurt? Where have you always wanted to go? Take a short trip together.
Talk about your goals: Why are you learning this language? What progress would you like to make regarding pronunciation, fluency or vocabulary?
Register by fillling out the registration form below. We will get in touch with you afterwards.
Two to three weeks after registering, you will receive confirmation of your registration by email. If you have not received this email, please send us an email to spz.tandem@uni-erfurt.de. Always use your university e-mail address when contacting us.
The tandem project is based on finding a match between the participating students in terms of languages. Depending on the languages, this may take a different amount of time. We therefore ask for some patience.
Other reasons for a lack of communication from our side could be:
Did you participate in a tandem this semester?
Let us know what went well and what we could improve!
We are happy to receive any feedback via mail - please send your feedback to spz.tandem@uni-erfurt.de
